We are so excited to finally share with you one of our major projects from this year. This custom framing and printing project spanned months and was such an honor for us to work on. Early this year we were contacted by the owners of the Whitewater Center in Charlotte about a new property that they acquired on the Cooper River in Huger. This property was formerly known as Middleburg and the Whitewater team planned to renovate the property within historical guidelines to create a destination with outdoor activities, events, accommodations and bed & breakfast weekends.
Our role in the project was handling the artwork in the main house and the outbuildings. The main house on the property was built in 1697 and is the oldest standing wooden plantation house in South Carolina. We framed artwork that worked with the refurbishment of the property and we also printed many historical pictures of the property to frame and hang in the main house and the outbuildings. We had many consultations both on and off site with the CEO and Operations Director of the Whitewater Center to come up with a master plan for all of the artwork. This collaboration worked well because we all had the same goals in mind to make the artwork and framing work cohesively with the period buildings, furniture and decor while honoring the history of this property. We also upheld our conservation framing standards to preserve the artwork from environmental elements. We installed all of the artwork and were thrilled with the final results. We are excited to share some pictures from the project with you today as Whitewater Santee is officially open for bookings. It is a beautiful property and you will not be disappointed in the accommodations.
